Because today's National Robot Day...didn't you know? Hmm. Really? Oh. Well...maybe I made it up. Anyway, to make a long story short (too late!) I'm finally getting back to "the moon story." These are designs for M.A.X and S.A.M, the two star-crossed robots that fall in love. S.A.M. is the only robot girl on earth and dresses like a human so as to fit in. M.A.X. wears a sweet sweet motorcycle jacket because it looks cool. Feedback?

Are those different hairstyle options or can she just change her hair at will?
The male robot's hair reminds me of how you had your hair last semester. Now, whether or not you've changed hair styles since then I wouldn't know, since I haven't seen you since then.
Ooooooh...I hadn't thought about her changing her hair. Good idea, Kayla! I had always envisioned her with a perpetual ponytail, but a J.C. Leyendecker recently inspired the shorter hair.
Yep, Nick. It's my hair from last semester. It won't do it now because it's too long and I'm not as cool as my robot alter ego.
Nice designs! Everytime you've turned your hands to these characters, they've gotten more interesting, more involved. And that broken robot heart is priceless.
So good!
Is it my imagination, or does M.A.X.look a little like you?
S.A.M's sweater vest is a great design choice, and I think short hair is the way to go... it relates to the sweater vest better I think.
I prefer M.A.X's simpler design, although it makes him look younger, if you want that effect.
Thanks, Joel! I think I may have peaked with the broken robot heart. It's all downhill from here.
Beverly, I refuse to answer on the grounds that people might realize how vain I reall am.
Shof, thanks! The sweater vest was my cheaty way to show her robot shoulders. And I do think I like a younger looking Max as well.
Glad to see you coming back to this story, haven't seen any personal Shane work in a while (I'm really not one to talk, though).
I think I like the shorter hair on the girl-bot as well.
You know how sometimes a naked person wearing one random item of clothing can seem more naked than if he were wearing nothing at all? That was my first thought on seeing the jacket. Like "where are the pants?" That's probably just me though.
Overall, I likey! Nice ro-bodies and lots of personality in them, keep it up!
I have nothing constructive to add, not sure how I missed this post.
I will say I think these look really cool. Can't wait to see a page full of 'em.
EDIT!
Also wanted to add I'm jealous of those inks, and I'll counter my bro by stating that I prefer M.A.X's more involved design, it does a better job of convincing me it could work at a glance. I'll also disagree with Michelle and say I like the jacket only look, though I think it looks more like denim than leather.
Good job confusing Shane, Shobo.
Gah! Robots in love! -melts into a puddle- I really like these designs..and I think M.A.X needs a motorcycle to match his jacket -cough- not because he bears a striking resemblence to an awesome Illustration/Illustrated Story teacher we all know and love -cough cough-
Thanks, Michelle! It's good to be back to the story. And wouldn't you know it I have a new idea threatening to put it on the back burner once again. Must...fight...new idea...gah!
Shobo, thanks! Yeah, the jacket ended up looking more like denim than leather...much to my dismay. I'll fix it with some of the upcoming sketches. I'm torn as far as the designs go. The more detailed version is more convincing, but considering the amount of time I have to work on this project...I may have to go with the simpler design.
Alden, I don't know what you're talking about. This robot looks NOTHING like said illustration/illustrated story teacher. Rest assured, however, while he doesn't begin his journey on a motorcycle...he does end up on one.
